Exterior makeovers, one-room remodels, kitchens, basements, whole-home transformations: Renovations are this week’s category as voting continues in round 3 of the All Things Home People’s Choice Award.
The People’s Choice Award is a prestigious trophy given out at the annual Housing Design Awards — a much-anticipated celebration of the Ottawa housing industry’s finest in design that’s put on by the Greater Ottawa Home Builders’ Association.
All Things Home was honoured to take on sponsorship of the award this year, particularly since it’s the only trophy in the awards program that’s chosen by the public. The award was previously sponsored by the Ottawa Citizen.
Over seven weeks, you can vote online for your favourite entries in several preliminary rounds, with the finalists from each round squaring off in a final round to determine the winner.
Voting schedule
Round 1: Sept. 21-26 — production homes + condos (completed)
Round 2: Sept. 28-Oct. 3 — custom homes (completed)
Round 3: Oct. 5-10 — renovations
Round 4: Oct. 12-17 — kitchens
Round 5: Oct. 19-24 — bathrooms
Round 6: Oct. 26-31 — design details + green homes
Final round: Nov. 2-7 — choose your favourite from the top projects in each of the first six rounds
The winner will be announced at the online awards gala Nov. 19.
Round 3
This week features 20 renovation projects that run the gamut from a redesigned rowhouse kitchen and dining room that improves accessibility to whole-home remakes over $550,000. Several of the entries are also part of this year’s virtual Reno Tour, which launched last week.
You can vote on the Round 3 entries until Sunday, Oct. 10, at gohbavote.ca.
