The planned community of Richardson Ridge in Kanata will eventually comprise 1,000 homes, including single-family dwellings, townhomes and condos. Uniform Urban Developments and Cardel Homes are the current builders, although only Uniform has a model for viewing at the moment.
Here’s what you’ll see when you visit the Richardson Ridge model home. The Hillcrest

Designed for Uniform by award-winning firm Hobin Architecture, the Hillcrest is a four-bedroom single-family home with 3.5 bathrooms, a main-floor den and 3,029 sq. ft. of living space.
The model is done in fresh neutrals and emphasizes clean lines. On the main floor, the main hallway leads to an open-concept living room, dining room and kitchen for easy entertaining. The den, which is tucked between the garage and the kitchen, can be closed off to shut out daily activity in the home while still being easily accessible. Behind the den, a handy mud room connects the garage to the kitchen.
Upstairs, there are four bedrooms, three of which have walk-in closets and one that includes a full ensuite to offer a second master suite. There’s also a separate laundry room and walk-in linen closet.
The basement in the model has been finished, offering a built-in wet bar area that boasts a fun metallic backsplash.
