There are several Trailsedge model homes, including townhomes and single-family homes, at the Trailsedge development by Richcraft Homes in Orléans South. It is an expanding community that will eventually reach 2,000 homes and commercial properties.
Richcraft recently opened several new models. Here’s what you’ll see when you visit.
The Arden

The Arden is a two-storey single that has performed well for Richcraft in the past, prompting the builder to want to build it again. This version of the home is contemporary yet soothing, with soft tones, texture and natural elements to add warmth — plus a rich green kitchen to spice things up.
The home is 2,305 sq. ft. on a 35-foot lot and comes with either three or four bedrooms. The model showcases the three-bedroom option with the second-floor loft and bonus room, to create an open, airy second floor.
On the main level, there’s another flex space, partially separated from the kitchen and used in this case as a dining room. But those flex spaces provide lots of options for families to create spaces to meet their needs.
The Bateman

The Bateman shows a single-family home option on a 31-foot lot. This 2,250-sq.-ft. home lives large and offers an option for buyers moving up from a townhome. It comes with three bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and a main-floor flex space that in the model is decorated as a sitting area.
The model’s design theme is renovated Victorian, with a mixture of bold and crisp white to provide contrast and create a timeless look that also feels modern. There are touches of wall moulding and shiplap, unexpected his and hers walk-in closets in the primary suite, and an open-to-below feature on the second floor.
The Monterey Corner

This two-bedroom, 1,605-square-foot bungalow townhome features a wrap-around front porch, an open-concept main living area including a fireplace in the great room, and a rear deck.
The primary bedroom includes a luxury three-piece ensuite and walk-in closet, there are soft-close drawers and quartz countertops throughout, and a finished rec room with a roughed-in bathroom and an optional third bedroom in the basement.
The Monterey Corner is an Energy Star home with high energy efficiency.
The Spencer

Walking into the Spencer is like stepping into a comfortable retreat. Designed with a California calm theme, it feels coastal, earthy and welcoming, using soft tones and lots of texture. Although a new model, this home is already an award winner.
The two-storey single is 2,770 sq. ft. on a 35-foot lot, with three bedrooms (there’s an option for a fourth) and 2.5 bathrooms.
The main floor is open concept with room for both a dining room and a flex space that could easily be an office. In the model, the dining room is outfitted as a sitting area and the flex space is used as the dining room. Upstairs, the primary suite includes shiplap detail on the ceiling (it’s also found elsewhere in the home) and there’s a section open to the great room below that makes the loft area feel open and airy.
The Westbrook

The Westbrook is a larger two-storey single, offering 3,078 sq. ft. on a 44-foot lot. It comes with four or five bedrooms (the model has four) and 3.5 bathrooms. As a larger family home, it has all the bells and whistles, including the option for a main-level bedroom suite for one-level living. As a result, the laundry is also on the main floor.
It also comes with features such as a gourmet kitchen with a walk-in pantry and a servery, separate formal and informal living spaces (living room and dining room up front and kitchen and family room at the back), walk-in closets for all bedrooms and a secondary bedroom with its own bathroom for added privacy.
The decor is a soft modern with an emphasis on creams and woods.
The Addison
Photo: AllThingsHome.ca
The Addison is Richcraft’s smallest two-storey town, coming in at 1,834 sq. ft., but it includes all the features of the Cobalt, with the exception of the second-floor loft area. The home won the trophy for production home attached, 2,000 sq. ft. or less, at the 2023 Ottawa Housing Design Awards.
The model has been designed with the optional chef’s kitchen, which extends the island as well as the cabinetry to include a floor-to-ceiling pantry instead of a breakfast nook. It also includes a vaulted ceiling in the great room for an elevated look.
This home has a Scandinavian vibe, with muted tones on a white base and clean lines. Kitchen cabinets, which are a mix of white uppers and wood lowers, showcase a thinner Shaker style that Richcraft has used in a few of its new models.
The Cobalt

Part of Richcraft’s popular executive townhome offering, the 1,945-sq.-ft. Cobalt pairs a traditional, Craftsman-influenced exterior with contemporary touches inside. The overall design theme is cosy cottage.
This home is outfitted with standard (meaning included) features and finishes to give buyers an idea of what you can get without having to spend extra on upgrades. The floor plan includes an open-concept kitchen (with a walk-in pantry), dining area and great room with a fireplace.
Upstairs there are three bedrooms, a laundry room and a loft space that’s ideal as a homework station, and the basement has a finished recreation room.
The Laguna

The 1,635-square-foot Laguna is an Energy Star-certified two-bedroom bungalow townhome.
There’s an open-concept main living area with a fireplace and raised ceiling in the living room, the primary bedroom features a raised ceiling, a walk-in closet and a luxury three-piece ensuite, and the basement has a finished rec room, roughed-in bathroom and optional bedroom.
The home also includes soft-close drawers and quartz countertops throughout.
The Kenora
Photo: MIV Photography
At 2,120 sq. ft., the Kenora townhome is larger than some two-storey singles. And this townhome lives large. The foyer leads to a main-floor den and then the floor plan opens to an open-concept dining room, kitchen and great room with fireplace. In the model, the optional kitchen layout is shown, replacing the island with a long peninsula and continuing the lower cabinets along the back wall through the great room for tons of extra storage space.
The style is reminiscent of a New York townhouse, using metals and hints of antique furniture in a look that’s cosmopolitan.
The home comes with either three or four bedrooms (the model has three, plus a loft) and 2.5 bathrooms. Along with the loft upstairs, there’s also room for a second-floor laundry room and a generous primary suite.
The Cambie
Photo: MIV Photography
The Cambie is one of two Jasper urban townhome models (meaning three-storey, back-to-back units) that Richcraft has on display. Complete with a garage and basement, this home has most of its main living space on the second floor. The ground floor shares space with the garage, but includes a roomy foyer and a small desk area for working from home. The second floor includes the open-concept kitchen, living room and dining area, along with a powder room and a balcony.
The third floor is reserved for the two bedrooms, the main bathroom, a laundry closet and another study area. There’s also an option to absorb the study area for a larger primary suite. All together, the home has 1,350 sq. ft.
Designed with a Pacific northwest getaway theme, the feeling is both fun and sophisticated, featuring vibrant kitchen cabinets tempered by generous wood accents and toned-down living room and dining room furniture.
The Granville
Photo: MIV Photography
The other Jasper urban town model at Trailsedge is the award-winning Granville, which is also a two-bedroom, three-storey, back-to-back town.
Slightly larger than the Cambie at 1,445 sq. ft., this home has similar features to the Cambie, but a different layout, with the kitchen at the front of the home rather than at the rear.
This model is decorated in a “high contrast modern farmhouse” theme, with an earthy, textured vibe that’s updated to appeal to first-time buyers.
