Stunning staircases, home offices, exterior spaces and green homes: the choices are varied in Round 6 of the 2021 All Things Home People’s Choice Award.
The People’s Choice Award is a prestigious trophy given out at the annual Housing Design Awards — a much-anticipated celebration of the Ottawa housing industry’s finest in design that’s put on by the Greater Ottawa Home Builders’ Association.
All Things Home was honoured to take on sponsorship of the award this year, particularly since it’s the only trophy in the awards program that’s chosen by the public. The award was previously sponsored by the Ottawa Citizen.
Since Sept. 21, the public has been invited to vote online for your favourite entries in several preliminary rounds. This week marks the final preliminary round — design details and green homes — and it’s now open. Following this week’s voting, the finalists from each round will square off in a final round to determine the winner.
Voting schedule
Round 1: Sept. 21-26 — production homes + condos (completed)
Round 2: Sept. 28-Oct. 3 — custom homes (completed)
Round 3: Oct. 5-10 — renovations (completed)
Round 4: Oct. 12-17 — kitchens (completed)
Round 5: Oct. 19-24 — bathrooms (completed)
Round 6: Oct. 26-31 — design details + green homes
Final round: Nov. 2-7 — choose your favourite from the top projects in each of the first six rounds
The winner will be announced at the online awards gala Nov. 19.
Round 6
This week features 28 projects that range from housing details (especially staircases) to offices and other rooms (just not kitchens and bathrooms, which had their own categories), exterior living spaces, super energy-efficient homes and projects outside Ottawa (can you spot the Caribbean home that’s entered?).
You can vote on the Round 6 entries until Sunday, Oct. 31, at gohbavote.ca.
